Premarital Counseling
Give your marriage a "leg up" with the gift of premarital counseling. I view premarital counseling as smart prevention. Trouble shoot potentially difficult issues before they lay root in your relationship. Through premarital counseling, practice and cultivate authentic, intimate, and appropriate communication skills that will be essential tools throughout your marriage.
Family and Individual Counseling
By definition, families are made up of delicate relationships that are often difficult to keep in balance. Each member of the family uniquely influences the balance between peace and conflict and function and dysfunction. So, when one member of this sacred unit is troubled, the entire family is troubled. I believe strongly in the importance of creating balance and structure within families and uncovering the negative family patterns that often undermine the positive growth of individual family members and the family as a whole.
Families often seek counseling during marital divorce or separation, remarriage and "blending" of families, grief, and the transition from childhood to adolescence.
I have worked extensively with families of adolescents. I help parents develop new parenting skills and roles to navigate the uncharted territory of adolescence and create a new understanding of what being a teenager is all about. Of equal importance, I also provide compassion and stability for adolescents as they also seek a compass to point them through changing family relationships, identity, and responsibilities. The teen years aren't easy, but they are definitely survivable!
Individual Counseling:
Whether you are having difficulty adjusting to a new job or have battled with depression for years, no issue is too big or too small for counseling. It matters to me, because it matters to YOU. I will stand beside you as we work together to manage, understand, and find relief from whatever issue is preventing you from being your best self.
